Today VentureBeat reported that EA CEO John Riccitiello announced that Mass Effect 3 has sold a total of 890,000 copies of the game in its first 24 hours in North America alone, while the game has shipped over 3.5 million copies worldwide.
During the Wedbush Technology Media and Telecommunications Conference, Riccitiello said “we anticipated it doing well, so we”re happy.” Riccitiello also mentioned that DLC for the title has been selling quite well. 40 percent of those who purchased the game, also purchased the DLC, which is the highest tie ratio for DLC that Gamestop has ever had.
